A medley-style album of 60s & 70s soul covers, Funky Fingers start out very promising on side 1 which is very good, 4½ stars. The medley on side 2 isn't quite as good, but is still worthwhile (3½ stars), not least for Precious' rendition of "River Deep, Mountain High", the full-length version of which was released on single. Still the album did nothing and sank without a trace. Collectors should beware that Hansa released two different covers for this album, one credits Precious Wilson only and features her photo on the backcover, the second credits Precious Wilson & La Mama but doesn't show any of the artists on the backcover.
