Incognito

After the disappointing Diamonds For Breakfast album, Amanda teamed with producer Trevor Horn in 1980 and recorded several songs including the song "Where Are You Now" which she performed on TV. Ariola, however, didn't like the songs and declined to release them and forced Amanda to record with Anthony Monn again. Incognito became Amanda's fifth album and was a stronger effort than Diamonds For Breakfast. Amanda wrote: "Walking incognito behind my dark glasses in a future world not so far away, I see the deadly sins. Fighting to survive (it is the law of the jungle), we meet with Envy, Violence, Greed, Fear, Indifference and even Bureaucracy and Nostalgia. This favourite sin of mine which helps to accept the future ..." and added the quote of Robert Sheckley: "Hell is who (where) you really are".

The songs had a darker edge than previously but all of them are strong and have good lyrics. "Égal" (Pride) was the German single, in Scandinavia "Nymphomania" (Greed) was chosen. In France, a French version of "New York" (Fear) was also released, while Spain had Spanish versions "Igual" (Égal) and a Spanglish version of "Ninfomanía" (Nymphomania). The Argentinian LP even featured the Nostalgia track "Berlin Lady" in Spanish: "Dama de Berlín". Also check out the opening track "Hollywood Is Just A Dream When You're Seventeen" (Laziness) which deserved a single release.

After this album, Amanda recorded a single-only release of "Fever" in 1982 (also produced by Anthony Monn), the single "Incredibilmente Donna" (Incredibly Woman) / "Buon Viaggio" (Bon Voyage) which was a huge hit in Italy, and a Hi-NRG/Aerobic single "Love Your Body" / "Darkness And Light" before recording her final Ariola album in 1983 Tam Tam.
