Silver Convention's outrageous and experimental third album Madhouse saw a drastic decline in their chart placings, and producers Sylvester Levay and Michael Kunze returned to the formula of the first two albums and made the sound a bit lusher, and the resulting Summernights (issued in the US as Golden Girls ) was quite a satisfying album. It included their Eurovision entry for Germany 1977, the Motown-ish "Telegram", which was a huge favourite before the contest but despite a great stage performance, it only achieved a disappointing 8th placing in the finale in London. The song wasn't popular in Germany either where it only managed to climb to #27 in the charts. Nevertheless, the album is thoroughly enjoyable disco from start to finish although the re-recording of "Save Me" seems pointless. Levay and Kunze parted shortly after the LP release, and rather than issue a second single from the album, Kunze teamed with Stefan Klinkhammer to record an ill-advised Beatles-medley with "The Boys from Liverpool" which didn't do Silver Convention's career much good.
