Silver Convention's meteoric rise to fame with such hits as "Fly Robin Fly" and "Get Up And Boogie" was followed by an equally rapid decline in popularity. Their third album Madhouse was an excellent album but didn't contain any hits - their 1977 Eurovision entry Telegram performed disappointingly in both the Eurovision Song Contest and the charts, and the masterminds Sylvester Levay and Michael Kunze parted ways quickly afterwards. Kunze teamed with Stefan Klinkhammer for a non-album single release, The Boys from Liverpool which was a resounding flop. Singer Penny McLean decided to leave and was replaced by UK singer Zendy Jacks (real name: Sue McClusky). While this trio went on an extensive live tour, Kunze went to Philadelphia to record the backing tracks for the group's fifth album. The result was good if a complete change in the group's sound - stomping Philly disco beat, arranged by John Davis, the new Silver Convention sounded like an entire new group. The infectuous "Spend The Night With Me" (featuring Zendy duetting with Jerry Rix) was the single release b/w the title track, and it was largely overlooked in Germany. Quite a shame really as both sides were really strong disco tracks. In the US, an extended "Spend The Night ..." was coupled with "Mission To Venus" for a double-A-side 12" release. The LP plays consistently strong, and only the track "City In The Sun" isn't up to par with the rest. This was Silver Convention's final studio album. The group reunited with Penny McLean for an ill-fated 1979 single release, Café Au Lait / Rollermania before they finally gave up.
