A great debut album from the spectacular Amanda Lear with her fantastic husky voice! It was a successful marriage with Anthony Monn's glossy Munich-disco-production. "Blood And Honey" was the first single, a funky tale about a lady who "loves blood and honey" and "has the devil in her eyes". "My Alphabet", Amanda's alphabet and her associations to each letter, set to a musical background of Bach, is fabulous. She also recorded French and Italian versions of her alphabet, you'll have to seek out the "Queen Of China-Town" singles from the respective countries to get them. Amanda's remake of "These Boots Are Made For Walkin'" is great, "Tomorrow" is a catchy disco-song, followed by the quirky, fast-paced "Pretty Boys". One of her all-time most successful singles "Queen Of China-Town" was added to later pressings of the album (Ariola cat.no. 25 473 OT - note there are two different covers: the "garage" cover and a nude cover). "Alligator" and "Lady In Black" keep the disco beat going, while the title track "I Am A Photograph" is set to a slow rock beat before the campy "Blue Tango" closes the ball. Amanda's debut single "La Bagarre" (a cover of Elvis' "Trouble") wasn't produced by Monn but by the two Italian La Bionda brothers, it was left off the later album pressings in favour of "Queen Of China-Town" but is a fine track - Amanda also recorded it in English.

All in all, an excellent debut album, extremely kitschy, but set to funny, clever lyrics.
